Designed, fabricated, and installed primary design elements, including the exterior railing systems for main entry, all balconies, and both decks. Landscaping was created with native species, and was designed to prevent erosion.

This project was huge. Just...huge. The house itself is an amazing thing, and I felt very lucky to be asked to contribute as much as I did for the project.

The most difficult part of the project was the stainless railing that leads down the front entry stairway. Many of the pieces had to be fabricated on-site and TIG welded into place.

My favorite part of the project was putting in the large trees that ornament the back yard. I love plants and doing design work with living systems!

As always, the goal is to pass inspection on the very first try. This design solved a multitude of problems, not least of which was, a single mis-step during construction would sent one flying down a very steep hill!

The most difficult part of the engineering was lifting the 200-plus-pound glass plates into place for the railings on the upper deck.

My favorite part of the project was cutting, assembling, and installing the "Dandelion" panels under the deck at the back of the house. I really like how how pressure-treated wood works with the patina. I'll definitely be using this design again!
